Comedian Steve Rizzo Kicks off CRMUG Summit 2014

“Feeling good is the fuel that drives motivation,” Steve Rizzo shared with the nearly 3,500 Dynamics users and partners attending Summit 2014, “That’s your choice, and that’s your responsibility.”

“No one can do that for you; you have to do it for yourself,” he continued “So I’m asking you to get your shift together. As soon as you open up your eyes [in the morning] focus on all the good. Why? Because this is the stuff that makes you feel good. And feeling good is the fuel that drives motivation.”

Summit attendees gathered bright and early to listen to the comedian & best-selling author’s Opening Keynote of Summit in St. Louis, MO. Steve’s approach to dealing with stress and negativity is to look for the humor in any situation because as he said “humor is everywhere.”

The power of laughter has been instilled in him from a young age. Steve recounted how his father frequently lectured his “Be proud of who you are, where you are from and what you do for a living.

While Steve recognizes that a positive attitude won’t prevent someone from having challenges, his experiences have proven that laughter and a sense of humor help you bounce back from those situations much quicker. Laughter shifts the brain’s focus away from the negative – even if only for a moment. When your thoughts return to the existing situation you’re in control, as opposed to being controlled by the circumstances.

Before sending attendees off to a full day of sessions and networking, Steve challenged them to consciously create the following three habits:

  • Begin each day by focusing on what they’re grateful for, what and who you appreciate, and
  • Remind yourself that each day is an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life
  • Discover laughter within yourself and in the world around you – it’s everywhere

Prior to welcoming Steve to the main stage, CEO of Dynamic Communities (DCI), Andy Hafer, warmed the crowd – welcoming 47% first time attendees and hundreds of international visitors. Hal Howard, former Corporate VP of R&D for Dynamics ERP at Microsoft joined Andy in his new capacity as Executive Director at DCI. By joining the community, Hal continues his passion for all things Dynamics and makes it clear that even though he’s left Microsoft he hasn’t left the Dynamics users and partners with whom he’s spent his career.

Transcending Business Boundaries with Dynamics CRM

$

Recently, we've come to realize that Dynamics CRM is not just one part of our business ecosystem - it's actually the heart of it. Increasingly, we are not just using CRM to manage leads, and opportunities, we're incorporating it into other aspects of business as well, such as support, maintenance contracts, customer care and web portals.

At first it was a challenge. How could we take this seemingly static entity, that only some of our users (at the beginning just the sales team) had access to, and make it relevant beyond the boundaries of that team to our support and professional services people?

We found that what was lacking first and foremost, was the ability to create workflows that interacted with other parts of our organization. That's when we came up with a new product - PNMsoft SCE. It's a unique solution for Dynamics CRM which enables the creation and management of complex visual workflows that can integrate and interact with other systems.

PNMsoft SCE enabled us to create those advanced workflows for Dynamics CRM which extend it beyond traditional boundaries to a greater user base.

And that seems to be the key to expanding CRM within an organization - meaningful workflows that reflect actual business processes, and the ability to expose CRM data and processes outside of itself - on other web portals, integrated with ERP and SharePoint, on mobile devices. In a nutshell - if you can't bring the users to CRM, then bring CRM to the users!

On Nov. 12 we'll be conducting a open webinar to demonstrate how organizations can transcend business boundaries by connecting Dynamics CRM to workflows, users and devices. At the core of our solution is the BPM software solution which is built into Dynamics CRM - PNMsoft SCE. We'll show how BPM and CRM together can effect a guided transformation of your business.

We'll also demonstrate unification of SharePoint and Dynamics CRM, workflows that are exposed on external web sites and mobile devices, and connection with ERP systems.

You're invited to share your challenges in making CRM the heart of your business ecosystem - so come with your success (and not-so-success) stories and don't be afraid of the mic!

We look forward to seeing you there. You can register today at: https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/777153574

See you there!
