I'll admit I'm quite excited to get my hands on Dynamics CRM 2015.
What's exciting? Lots. But especially the additions of Cortana, Microsoft's intelligent digital assistant, and also enhanced integration, such as with customer engagement platform Thunderhead (announced at Microsoft Convergence in Barcelona on Nov. 4). The Dynamics CRM team clearly understands that for businesses to succeed in today's fast-paced market, intelligence and engagement are key. A CRM can no longer be a static database. It needs to be a living, thriving entity that thinks, talks and listens to its users and their customers.
With intelligent CRM becoming even more central to the customer journey, we're going to see an even greater need for the third element of the success equation: intelligent, integrative workflows.
It's called BPM - Business Process Management. CRM users do not live in a vacuum. Now, with greater customer engagement capabilities, they can better manage and facilitate their customer-facing communications. But what about how such activities affect the rest of their company? Here there is a widening gap. ERP, Database, SharePoint, and other systems must have a bridge which connects them with CRM. And business managers must have an effective way to establish the optimal workflows that interact with these systems. An intelligent BPM suite (iBPMS) is the best possible solution for managing such integrative workflows (just ask Gartner!). Until now, most Dynamics CRM administrators had no way of leverage the power of a iBPMS.
But that's all changing. BPM vendors are beginning to realize the power of BPM + CRM. For example, PNMsoft SCE is an iBPMS that integrates with a simple plugin into Dynamics CRM. It includes the ability to create intelligent, integrative workflows for Dynamics CRM. SCE enables CRM architects to build an end-to-end solution that spans their company, connecting CRM activities with SharePoint, SAP, and other ERP systems, with out-of-the-box wizards that take minutes to complete.
I like the way things are developing with Dynamics CRM 2015. But in order to fully maximize the new features and benefits, I recommend taking a look at how an iBPMS such as PNMsoft SCE can make CRM relevant for your entire organization. CRM is fast becoming the center of operations for many companies and organizations. As this happens, creating intelligent workflows will become the key differentiator that determines whether a company is standing in its tracks, or rising to the top.
