Create Custom Invoice, Quote and Order in Dynamics CRM

If you are familiar with Microsoft Word, you can now customize Dynamics CRM reports such as Invoice, Quote and Order, in the same way you edit a document with Microsoft Word

Dynamics Docs are MS Word based templates with merged fields from CRM entities. Templates are free of charge; you only pay for the license of the user using Dynamics Docs, at our introductory low price of US$49 only.

The free of charge templates available on our website:  www.DynamicsObjects.com include all relevant fields in CRM out of the box entities, like: Case, Invoice, Opportunity, Order, Quote, Account. More templates are uploaded to the website based on customers’ requirements. We also provide free templates for customized entities. All you need to do is forward the details and we will return you a new Docs Template that includes your customized fields.

In the properties part of a Docs Template, we store the details of what entity the template is related to and the schema names of the attributes of the entity and related entities (N:1 and 1:N). These fields, which we merge in the document, are in the following format: <<FieldName>>.
You can download the Invoice template by clicking here.Invoice Template

Editing the template is like any editing of MS Word document. You can add images and text, delete existing text, copy the merged fields and paste in different locations or remove unnecessary merge fields. The only rule to remember is that fields in a table, which represent a list of records, must be copied to a table, while other fields, which are not list of records, can be copied and pasted anywhere in the document.

Dynamics Docs automatically converts the document into a PDF file which is attached to Note or to an Email. Dynamics Docs can be converted to HTML file and displayed in the Email body.

Sending an email with Dynamics Docs attachment can be triggered with a Workflow. A good example for such functionality is a workflow that starts when an Invoice is created and waits for a period of time; let’s say 14 or 30 days. If the invoice status is not paid during the selected period of time, an Email is sent to the customer, with copy of the invoice, either as an attachment or in the body of the Email, so that the customer can’t claim he has not seen the invoice.
