Microsoft Dynamics CRM is gaining market share among the top five Customer Relationship Management vendors as the market as a whole saw a 13.3-percent increase in 2014 for a total of $23.2 billion in revenue, according to a recent report from Gartner.
The cloud was a major factor in the growth of CRM revenue as cloud’s low upfront cost attracts new customers and businesses are looking for new ways to stay competitive in an increasingly data-driven business environment.
“Strong demand for software as a service (SaaS) continues, with SaaS accounting for almost 47 percent of total CRM software revenue in 2014,” said Joanne Correia, research vice president at Gartner. “This is driven by organizations of all sizes seeking easier-to-deploy and faster-ROI alternatives to modernizing legacy systems, implementing new applications, or providing alternative complementary functionality.”
